Being trained in three complementary models of counselling allows me to adapt my approach to suit your individual needs.
About Me
As a therapist I work with people from many different walks of life, who have come to counselling for all sorts of reasons.
I welcome and respect everyone as an individual irrespective of background, ethnic origin, religious beliefs, gender or sexual orientation.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I initially worked for a large broadcasting corporation, progressing to a complex managerial role responsible for multiple teams in a busy 24/7 environment. I well understand the pressures of a demanding workplace.
I changed career direction by qualifying as a yoga teacher and then a counsellor while raising my children.
After teaching yoga and relaxation classes for 15 years, I have substantial experience in offering mindfulness and breathing practices which help alleviate anxiety and stress.
I am a Registered and Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the counselling professions.
In addition to my private practice, I previously worked for several years at:
Student Counselling Service at Royal Holloway, University of London
Windsor & Maidenhead Youth and Community Counselling Service
I can also provide sessions via BUPA.
If you have a Bupa health insurance policy which covers counselling/psychotherapy you can contact them to discuss the process of authorising sessions with me.
